Así fue nuestra segunda edición de Brocha Viva: una manifestación de arte efímero, en vivo, y profundamente anclado en la cultura.
De Materia Prima a Obra Maestra: El Costal con Historia
Sé que suena disruptivo: ¿arte sobre un costal de café? Pero para mí, un costal no es solo yute. Es un testigo silencioso de viajes, de tradiciones y de la semilla de un encuentro universal: el café. Cuando pinto sobre este soporte, lo transformo en una reliquia viva. Le inyecto color y símbolos que dialogan con su propia historia. Es un acto de respeto y reinvención.

El Alma de Roma en Cada Pincelada
Antes de pintar, escuché la historia. Carlo, uno de los dueños del Café Sant'Eustachio, me contó que desde 1938 sirven su espresso con el mismo tueste a leña. Ahí entendí la magia: este café no solo se bebe, se hereda, se comparte, se convierte en memoria.
Pintar en Sant'Eustachio—a pasos de la iglesia del santo cazador y a la sombra del Panteón—no fue pintar en cualquier lugar. Fue dialogar con siglos de historia mientras creaba algo radicalmente nuevo. Fue fundir la solidez de lo clásico con la vibración de lo contemporáneo.
Una Experiencia Colectiva: Tu Inspiración, Mi Paleta
En el día del evento, el café se convirtió en mi estudio abierto. Pero la magia de Brocha Viva es que es una experiencia colectiva. Entregamos papeles con la pregunta "¿Qué te inspira?" y mientras yo pintaba, iba integrando esas palabras en la composición.
Turistas, locales, curiosos... todos fuimos parte del proceso. Observaron en silencio cómo el color se movía como una meditación, y preguntaron sobre Colombia, mis orquídeas y mis tonos vibrantes. En ese instante, rompimos la barrera del museo. El arte se hizo accesible, vivo y compartido.
El Resultado: Un Original Impregnado de Significado
La obra final que surgió sobre el costal de Sant'Eustachio es un puente palpable entre dos mundos:
- Pinté al Ciervo, símbolo del santo cazador, que representa guía y protección.
- Junto a él, una mujer con una taza de café encapsula el ritual y la pausa necesaria en nuestra vida moderna.
- Entre ambos, florecen mis características orquídeas latinoamericanas, el reflejo de mi tierra, de la biodiversidad indomable y de la pasión.

What if I told you that your next work of art wasn't born in a cold studio, but in the beating heart of Rome, steeped in the aroma of the finest espresso? This was our second edition of Brocha Viva: a manifestation of ephemeral art, live, and deeply rooted in culture.
From Raw Material to Masterpiece: The Sack with History
I know it sounds disruptive: art on a coffee sack? But for me, a sack is not just jute. It is a silent witness to journeys, traditions, and the seed of a universal encounter: coffee. When I paint on this medium, I transform it into a living relic. I inject it with color and symbols that dialogue with its own history. It is an act of respect and reinvention.

The Soul of Rome in Every Brushstroke
Before painting, I listened to the story. Carlo, one of the owners of Café Sant'Eustachio, told me that since 1938 they have been serving their espresso with the same wood-fired roast. That's when I understood the magic: this coffee is not only drunk, it is inherited, shared, and turned into memory.
Painting at Sant'Eustachio—steps away from the church of the holy hunter and in the shadow of the Pantheon—was not like painting anywhere else. It was a dialogue with centuries of history while creating something radically new. It was a fusion of the solidity of the classic with the vibrancy of the contemporary.
A Collective Experience: Your Inspiration, My Palette
On the day of the event, the café became my open studio. But the magic of Brocha Viva is that it is a collective experience. We handed out pieces of paper with the question "What inspires you?" and as I painted, I integrated those words into the composition.
Tourists, locals, curious onlookers... we were all part of the process. They watched in silence as the color moved like a meditation, and asked about Colombia, my orchids, and my vibrant tones. In that moment, we broke down the museum barrier. Art became accessible, alive, and shared.
The Result: An Original Imbued with Meaning
The final work that emerged on the Sant'Eustachio sackcloth is a tangible bridge between two worlds:
- I painted the Deer, symbol of the holy hunter, representing guidance and protection.
- Next to him, a woman with a cup of coffee encapsulates the ritual and necessary pause in our modern lives.
- Between them, my characteristic Latin American orchids bloom, reflecting my homeland, its untamed biodiversity, and passion.
